Children in New Hampshire will soon have access to low cost and free health care programs. It's part of a national effort called "Covering Kids." The purpose of the initiative is to link families in need of health care with affordable services. An estimated 30-thousand New Hampshire children are eligible for health care assistance.

New Hampshire ranks eighth in the nation when it comes to providing workers with a smoke-free policy.
The study - conducted for the National Cancer Institute - determined that over 74 percent of indoor workers ages 15 and up in the granite state are protected by a smoke-free policy. Utah came in first with over 83 percent of its workers protected by a smoke free policy. The national rate was 68.6%.

New Hampshire boaters now have better access to the Squam Lakes in Holderness --- thanks to a new public facility there.
Governor Jeanne Shaheen was on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony today. The new public access site has two boat ramps, a new dock, and parking for over 20 vehicles. It replaces two privately managed sites.
